Tech-savvy travellers now have access to an innovative new app which brings Canberra’s One Good Thing After Another tourism message to life.

I am pleased to be launching the app from this year’s annual Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) on the Gold Coast, where tourism wholesalers and retailers from around the world are meeting with industry representatives from around the country – including Canberra.

With new direct international flights from Singapore and Wellington commencing in September, ATE is the ideal place to be announcing this new initiative to stimulate the visitor economy.

The app’s release forms part of our destination’s new marketing positioning, One Good Thing After Another, which centres on Canberra’s unique selling point – our diverse range of experiences and their close proximity to one another.

Inspired by VisitCanberra’s new suite of promotional videos, Weekend Movie Trailers, the app allows users to choose from a wide variety of Canberra experiences to piece together their own video itinerary.

Users can then inspire their family and friends to take a trip to Canberra by sharing their completed video online.

This app is another fantastic tourism resource which continues to build on the success of VisitCanberra’s award-winning social advocacy campaigns, Human Brochure and 101 Local Humans.

With new hotels, family-friendly attractions, award-winning food and wine, and loads of outdoor adventures, there’s a lot to love about Canberra. This app showcases our tourism industry in a new and creative light, as we aim to grow the value of our visitor economy to $2.5 billion by 2020.

The tourism industry is currently worth nearly $1.7 billion to the ACT economy and employs around 14,700 Canberrans.

Over the next 12 months the video itinerary planner app will be updated with fresh content, showcasing a broad range of experiences across the Canberra region.

The app is available for free now on both iOS and Android platforms by searching VisitCanberra in the App store.
