What's On

Editor's Note October 2021
Pieces of Victoria is our monthly media newsletter, here to deliver the state’s best openings, events, trends and travel inspiration straight to your inbox.

With travel on the horizon all the best of Victoria is waiting to welcome you back and we want to give you a preview of what’s in store. Last week we showcased Melbourne as the home of Australia’s best coffee – it truly is harder to find a bad coffee than a great one. On International Coffee Day, 1 October, Visit Victoria ran a ‘Sip for Vic’ campaign, which saw thousands of Melburnians enjoy free coffees (on us) from 12 of the CBD’s best cafes. Read on to get our tips on the top new and lesser-known brews across the state.

Spring is in full force; the picnic rugs have been dusted off – this edition features a wealth of natural gems and green spaces begging to be explored.

In honour of International Chef Day (fast approaching on 20 October), we’re delighted to feature a special piece by one of Victoria’s most respected culinary figures, Alla Wolf-Tasker AM.

New travel trends are emerging, and after lots of time at home we know most of you are looking to get away but not so keen on leaving your furry friends behind. Co-dependency aside, pooches deserve as much of a vacation as their owners, and we’ve got you covered with a great selection of adorable pet-friendly accommodation packages across the state.

More than ever before, people are acting consciously and there’s a real desire to do good for the community. Victoria is home to over 3,500 social enterprises, including many amazing tourism products. Don’t miss our piece on where to find purpose on a plate.

That’s all for October but if you have any specific media related enquiries, or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via pr@visitvictoria.com.au – we’re here to help in any way we can.

We’ll see you soon.
