Wall To Wall Festival
- Written by Victorian Government
On the weekend of the 18th of April, Benalla again came to life to host Victoria’s only major street art festival, Wall to Wall Festival.
Now in it’s second year, the event drew over 4,000 people to the small town located in North East Victoria.
Wall to Wall 2016 featured artists talks, work-shops, skate demo’s by the Zoo York Skate team, street art tours and of course, 15 of Australia’s best street artists painting walls across the town.
The artists came from all over Australia to paint at what has become one of the standout destinations in the country to view high-end contemporary street art. Unique to this year’s festival was the 50/50 male and female artist line-up who contributed to the festival. Adding to last year’s Festival works, Benalla now has 28 murals, painted by the likes of Rone, Adnate, Kaff-eine, Lucy Lucy, Smug, Guido Van Helten and many more.
The murals are a permanent fixture in the town and are quickly becoming a major attraction in the town alongside the Benalla Art Gallery and the Winton Wetlands.
