Wall To Wall Festival returns
- Written by Victorian Government
The idyllic town of Benalla will once again come to life with the sounds of scissor lifts and the smell of paint at the annual Wall to Wall Festival, 18 – 20 March.
Featuring an all-star line-up of seven male and seven female street artists, another 14 amazing murals will be created in the town bringing the total number of murals up to 28 – making Benalla a must-see destination for public art enthusiasts.
This year’s festival offers various ways in which the public can get involved, including: an oversized “paint by numbers” mural that can be completed by anyone confident enough to pick up a brush, youth stencil workshops at the Benalla Skate Park, skate demonstrations and talks by some of the artists at the Benalla Art Gallery. There will also be a festival hub for those who want to enjoy a relaxing day in the sun, listening to the best of Benalla’s live music scene.
The Wall to Wall 2016 line up includes some true street-art heavyweights including the internationally acclaimed photo realist painter Smug, Wall to Wall 2015 favourite Adnate, one of Australia’s most well regarded and high profile female street artist Kaff-eine, the extremely talented French artist Lucy Lucy, and the artist now famous for creating the Brim Art Silo, Guido Van Helten.
