Cadel Evans after the 2015 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race

As part of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race  (30-31 January 2016), cyclists have the opportunity to ride shoulder to shoulder with Cadel himself in the Momentum Energy People’s Ride on Saturday, 30 January 2016.

To celebrate five years since the cycling great won the Tour de France, the official jersey for the 2016 Momentum Energy People’s Ride will be yellow. The limited edition jersey recognises the milestone that was Cadel’s victory at the Tour de France in 2011 and is only available to Momentum Energy People’s Ride participants.

The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race starts on the Geelong Waterfront, travels through Cadel’s home town of Barwon Heads and passes by Thirteenth Beach, Torquay, Bells Beach and the rolling hills of Moriac.

Participants can choose from the 65 kilometre course and 111 kilometre  course which follow the same route as the Elite Men’s and Women’s Races and incorporate some of Cadel’s favourite training roads.

Cyclists are advised to register as soon as possible as in 2015 the Momentum Energy People’s Ride sold out. Anyone who registers for the Momentum Energy People’s Ride before 2 December will go in the draw to win the Ultimate Cadel Evans “Behind the Scenes” Experience including a meal with Cadel, behind the scenes tour and a signed jersey.

The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race is Australia’s ultimate weekend of cycling action. On Saturday 30 January there is the Momentum Energy People’s Ride and the Elite Women’s Race followed by the Elite Men’s Race on Sunday 31 January, featuring many of the world’s best cyclists on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast.
