The Village Festival
- Written by Victorian Government
Circus and art are set to combine when The Village Festival returns for its tenth year in 2015 (29 October until 1 November). Located in North Fitzroy, just a short tram ride away from the city, this cultural hub will be thriving with all the festival has to offer.
A major highlight in the 2015 program is Dance With Me, a public performance where the spotlight is on the participants, not the artist. Festival-goers are encouraged to learn a partner dance routine, ready to perform together on the final day of the festival. Musical highlights for the event include, Sex On Toast and Chicago blues from The LowDown Big Band.
The Famous Village Dog Show is back by popular demand as is So You Think You Can Interpretive Dance, as well as the Candy Shop – where audiences earn their sweets, instead of buying them.
The festival will be held in North Fitzroy’s Edinburgh Gardens. Entry is free and a $10 day pass enables visitors to access all shows.
