MPavilion returns to Melbourne
- Written by Victorian Government
Following on from its success in 2014, MPavilion returns to Melbourne in October, this year designed by AL_A, the studio of Stirling Prize–winning architect Amanda Levete.
Founded in 2014, MPavilion acts as an event hub, a meeting place and an invitation to experiment, bringing creative collaborators together to present a free, four-month program of talks, workshops and performances from 6 October, 2015 to 7 February, 2016. Events include music, spoken word, presentations, meditation, and even flower and plant arranging.
And this year, MPavilion joins forces with the London Design Festival and Google’s Creative Lab to launch a world first - 25XDESIGN. As part of the initiative, Levete will choose 25 design inspirations from around the city of Melbourne - including places, experiences, and objects and works of art – that will be virtually displayed using Google’s new Creative Lab 360 degree technology.
MPavilion is located in the Queen Victoria Gardens, in the centre of Melbourne’s Southbank Arts Precinct.
