Mornington Peninsula Hinterland Scarecrow Festival and Trail
- Written by Victorian Government
There may be nary a brain among them, but the scarecrows are returning to Mornington Pensinula, as part of the 10th Mornington Peninsula Hinterland Scarecrow Festival and Trail.
Held from 16 September to 3 October, the festival will feature 40 traditional scarecrows and art installations, all created by local artists, school children and businesses. Visitors can enjoy the touring trail and vote for their favourite or play an interactive online quiz, with lots of prizes on offer.
A Scarecrow Festival Day will be held on Saturday, 1 October at Red Hill Recreation Reserve, coinciding with the Red Hill Craft Market. The straw-stuffed characters will be abundant, along with free children’s art activities and a live scarecrow competition.
