Minister Barr: Enlighten returns in 2017

Returning for a seventh year, Enlighten will illuminate the nation’s capital from 3-12 March 2017 with a program featuring premier installations, roving performances, dining experiences, live music and architectural projections on six of Canberra’s iconic national attractions.
Enlighten has become one of the most eagerly anticipated attractions on the ACT’s events calendar- attracting growth in event attendance from local and interstate markets. The ACT Government is committed to supporting local businesses by hosting events such as Enlighten which attract interstate travellers and promote economic activity in the Territory.
In 2017, the festival will partner with international airline carrier Singapore Airlines as the presenting partner for this year’s event. Aligning with Singapore Airlines will help promote the event to new markets in Singapore and Wellington – where the airline is operating direct international flights to Canberra.
Public Relations Manager, Singapore Airlines, South West Pacific, Karl Schubert said: “We are pleased to have the opportunity to support one of Canberra's major cultural events.
“Becoming the presenting partner of Enlighten for the next three years provides a wonderful opportunity to engage with the local community as well as work with the ACT Government to grow international visitors to Canberra.
“Enlighten is a vibrant and exciting event and we are looking forward to supporting its growth in the coming years,” Mr Schubert said.
The Enlighten Night Noodle Markets will also return in 2017, offering a vast array of Asian-influenced and inspired food offerings each evening from 3-13 March.
