This New Year’s Eve, Civic Square will welcome 2017 with an all-ages concert featuring The Potbelleez and local bands Heuristic, Brass Knuckle Brass Band and Nostalgia. Entertainment runs from 7pm – 9pm.
Bass in the Place returns to Garema Place from 9pm-1am featuring Odd Mob, BNDR, Exposure and Tyson.
Two spectacular pyrotechnic displays will occur on City Hill at 9pm and midnight, with best vantage points from Civic Square.
Both events are alcohol and glass-free to ensure a safe and friendly atmosphere.
ACTION’s NEW Night Rider service will service the events and connect between major town centres. Extended late night Rapid services will run every 20 minutes until 2am.
From town centres, riders can connect home with UBER. Transport Canberra have partnered with UBER to provide riders with a $10 discount to connect your ride home. More info can be found at www.transport.act.gov.au
London Circuit between Akuna Street and Northbourne Avenue will be closed from 5pm on 31 December 2016 – 2am on 1 January 2017, with Northbourne Avenue closed (Southbound and Northbound) between Cooyong Street and Vernon Circle from 8:40pm - 9:30 pm on 31 December and 11:40pm on 31 December - 12:30am on 1 January.
