Easey’s in Collingwood is jam-packed with modern Melbourne icons. From a 1972 Hitachi train carriage, seated on original orange tartan train seats, diners can fill up on a Melbourne Madness Burger (complete with a potato cake AND dim sim), sip on a local beer (Melbourne Bitter or Mountain Goat) and enjoy the original street art on the walls. 3/48 Easey Street, Collingwood, +61 3 9079 5942
Chuckle Park is located in a dead-end laneway (off Little Collins St in the city centre) and serves retro American themed food and drink from a converted caravan. A turf lawn, wood-grain furnishings and kitsch lanterns give off a 70s vibe, awnings and ample heating make it a year-round casual affair. 322, Little Collins Street, Melbourne, +61 3 9650 4494
Beach Burrito’s first outlet in Melbourne is also the first restaurant in the world to include a skate-able concrete pool. Diners can enjoy margaritas and a traditional Mexican menu whilst watching skateboarders do their tricks. 230-232 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy, +61 3 9416 4863
