The 62nd annual Tesselaar Tulip Festival will take place from September 10 – October 6 in the Yarra Ranges, just outside Melbourne. In preparation for the 2015 festival, organisers have planted an additional 100,000 tulips, bringing the total to well over 700,000 and encompassing more than 120 different colours and varieties.

The four-week festival will include themed periods such as Turkish weekend, Yarra Ranges week, Dutch weekend, Food, Wine and Jazz weekend, Irish weekend and special children’s weeks during the school holidays. Third generation tulip grower Paul Tesselaar now manages the historic gardens, first opened to the public in 1954 by his grandparents, Cees and Johanna Tesselaar.
