Heide Museum of Modern Art

Heide Museum of Modern Art, or Heide as it is affectionately known, began life in 1934 as the Melbourne home of John and Sunday Reed and has since evolved into one of Australia's most unique destinations for modern and contemporary Australian art. A mere 20 minutes from the centre of the city, Heide boasts fifteen acres of beautiful gardens, three dedicated exhibition spaces, two historic kitchen gardens, a sculpture park and the Heide Store. Café Heide, located in the sculpture plaza opposite the main entrance of the museum, serves coffee, breakfast and a delicious lunch-time menu that focuses on seasonal produce grown in the kitchen garden. 7 Templestowe Rd, Bulleen, Victoria, 3105. 

Centre for Contemporary Photography

Centre for Contemporary Photography is one of Australia's pre-eminent galleries for the exhibition of contemporary photo-based arts, providing a context for the enjoyment, education, understanding and appraisal of contemporary practice. Established in 1986 by the photographic community as a not-for-profit exhibition and resource centre, CCP has played a pivotal role in the support of photo-based arts and public engagement with photography. It has six exhibition spaces, including the Night Projection Window viewed after dark and features a diverse range of photo-based arts from emerging to established artists. 404 George St, Fitzroy, Victoria, 3065. 

Buxton Contemporary

Designed by renowned architects Fender Katsalidis, Buxton Contemporary is located in the heart of the Melbourne arts precinct where it provides a creative forum through which the University of Melbourne’s art school engages local, national and international audiences with the best of contemporary Australian and international art. It is the result of a landmark gift to the University of Melbourne by the art collector Michael Buxton, who founded the Michael Buxton Collection with the aim of developing a museum quality collection of contemporary Australian art. The museum uses the Michael Buxton Collection as a foundation and inspiration for exhibitions, performance, research, teaching and publishing. Lyon Housemuseum

The Lyon Collection is one of the largest and most significant art collections of its type in Australia, and continues to grow with the acquisition of new works by emerging practitioners.The Housemuseum Galleries are a major expansion of the original Lyon Housemuseum that was established by Corbett and Yueji Lyon in Melbourne, 2009. The Galleries’ exhibitions, programs and events explore how contemporary art, architecture and design address, reflect and shape our communities and our futures. Koorie Heritage Trust

The Koorie Heritage Trust is a bold and adventurous 21st century Aboriginal arts and cultural organisation, offering an inclusive and engaging environment for all visitors. As an Aboriginal owned and managed organisation, the gallery takes great pride in their ability to develop and deliver an authentic and immersive urban Aboriginal arts and cultural experience in a culturally safe environment that cannot be duplicated by any other arts and cultural organisation in Melbourne. It embraces Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their history and culture.
