Plan yet another adventure in Melbourne or regional Victoria as activity a plenty keeps visitors and locals entertained.

Terracotta Warriors x Cai Guo-QiangIn a dual presentation of Chinese art and culture past and present, the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces presents China’s ancient Terracotta Warriors alongside a parallel display of new works by one of the world’s most exciting contemporary artists, Cai Guo-Qiang.

Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality is a large-scale presentation of the Qin Emperor’s Terracotta Warriors, which were discovered in 1974 in China’s Shaanxi province.

Presented in parallel, Cai Guo-Qiang: The Transient Landscape, sees contemporary artist, Cai Guo-Qiang, create all new art works inspired by his home country’s culture and its enduring philosophical traditions.

Great Ocean Road Running FestivalThe Great Ocean Road Running Festival returns with the festival offering one of the most spectacular marathons in the world.

The course stretches along the coastal towns of Lorne to Apollo Bay and runners of all distances can soak up some of Australia’s most scenic beaches and breathtaking views during the annual two-day running extravaganza.

Registration also gives participants free access to a range of activities across the weekend such as a kite festival, live music and yoga sessions so everyone can enjoy the festivities.

Good Beer WeekGood Beer Week is a celebration of pales, lagers and ales and the outstanding people who make it.

Celebrated across 300 events that span Melbourne and regional Victoria, Good Beer Week is back for a ninth time with the motto ‘let the good times roll’ ensuring plenty of live music, games and all-round fun.

Various locations, 10-19 May

Plate Up BallaratAn exciting month-long event celebrating Ballarat’s wonderful food offerings, craft beers and boutique wines, Plate Up Ballarat will showcase local producers to thousands of people via more than 50 events that span the month of May.

Continuing the theme of sustainability, this year Plant Up Ballarat is focusing on plant-based eating, and the indelible link between nutrition and wellness. Sometimes though, food is just about comfort, and there is nothing more comforting than a classic toastie. Be prepared for some creative spins on old classics though.

Various locations in Ballarat, until 31 May

Revolutions: Records and RebelsDeveloped by the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London, with a sound experience by Sennheiser, Revolutions: Records and Rebels looks at the seismic changes in music that occurred from 1966 - 1970.

Capturing the voices of disruptors in music, fashion, technology and politics, the exhibition explores the impact this period had on the way we live today and how we think about tomorrow.

With over 500 objects on display highlights include John Lennon’s signature glasses, hand written lyrics for the Beatles hit Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Iconic Mini dresses worn by Twiggy and protest materials that defined the anti-Vietnam War movement.
