March 11 Curtis Stone @ House of Food & Wine, Melbourne Food & Wine Festival

Melbourne’s very own Curtis Stone returns from LA to cook a good old-fashioned barbecue, as well as taking the masterclass stage for a double session moderated by Pat Nourse. Elsewhere, hear top chefs talk about staying creative, participate in a rosé tasting, or try the bespoke food creations from Sundae School Ice Creamery, Belles Hot Chicken and Mamasita.

March 12 Love, Immigration Museum

Developed in partnership with Heide Museum of Modern art, Love combines visual art, historic and contemporary artefacts, and personal reflections from the community and visitors to explore love in all its joyous, illogical, heart-breaking and tender glory.

March 13 Formula 1® Season Launch, Federation Square

To mark the start of the 2019 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, Melbourne will play host to the inaugural season launch event.

Hosted by Formula 1®, Federation Square will come alive with the free extravaganza as all 20 drivers, 10 Team Principals and with legends of the sport participate in the live stage show, bringing the heroes of Formula 1® to the public for the first time in the sport’s history.

March 14 Opening Night, Melbourne Queer Film Festival

Film lovers united for the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, with Matt Bomer to star in opening film, Papi Chulo.

Tudors to Windsors traces the history of the British monarchy through the outstanding collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London. This exhibition highlights major events in British (and world) history from the sixteenth century to the present, examining the ways in which royal portraits were impacted by both the personalities of individual monarchs and wider historical change.

March 19 The Krystyna Campbell-Pretty Fashion Gift, National Gallery of Victoria

Featuring designers from Charles Frederick Worth, the celebrated father of haute couture, to the iconoclastic Alexander McQueen, the exhibition includes over 200 garments and archive works from the extensive fashion research collection comprising hundreds of designers’ sketches; workbooks; photographs; and fashion magazines, journals and periodicals from the early nineteenth century onwards.
