Rolling Stone set to take over Melbourne
- Written by Victorian Government
Australia’s music capital, Melbourne, is set to host the 2016 Rolling Stone Live Lodge (21 September – 9 October 2016).
Taking over the Workers Club in Fitzroy for three entertainment-packed weeks, this much loved venue will become a bespoke bar for seven nights a week, treating punters to exclusive live performances, artist Q & As and special guest DJs.
Exclusive shows, album launches and special performances by artists including REMI, Kim Salmon, Ella Hooper and her New Magic Band, Victorian rockers Stonefield and In Conversation with Jimmy Barnes – a rare chance to get up close and personal with Australia’s most well-loved rock ‘n’ roll legend.
Editor in Chief Mathew Coyte said: “Melbourne is the epicentre of the Aussie music scene, and has some of the most dedicated live music fans we’ve ever met, so it was a no-brainer to head back for another Live Lodge.”
Leading music and entertainment magazine Rolling Stone was first published in 1967 in San Francisco and has been at the forefront of the counter-culture revolution ever since.
