Minister Barr: CBR Space credentials shine in Export Awards

The ACT’s space credentials were highlighted in the ACT export Awards with local company EOS Defence Systems, which develops advanced technologies for the defence and space markets, awarded 2018 ACT Exporter of the Year.
The ACT is the home of the National Space Agency, and we have a growing number of research and development companies that supporting the Australian aeronautical industry.
The emergence of this industry is creating more jobs in our city. Approximately one in four Australian space sector jobs are currently located in Canberra.
The ACT economy is continues to hold one of the strongest economies in Australia, supported by the hard work, innovation and success of Canberra businesses reaching new global markets.
The ACT’s value of exports in goods and services exports rose from $1.59 billion in 2015 to $1.95 billion in 2018 – an increase of 23 per cent. International education exports have increased by 58 per cent from $555 million in 2014, putting $879 million into the Canberra economy in 2017.
The annual export awards serve to raise awareness and showcase ACT exporters on the national and international stage.

The national category winners now progress to the 56th Australian Export Awards at the National Arboretum Canberra on 27 November 2018.
