Finalists in the 2017 ACT Chief Minister’s Export Awards were announced last night at East Hotel in Kingston.

The ACT Chief Minister’s Export Awards celebrate our outstanding local exporters and play a valuable role in supporting many more Canberra Region exporters to realise their potential. Just applying for an award provides companies with access to specialist support and advice, as well as important networking opportunities.

An internationally competitive business sector is important to Canberra’s economy, helping us grow as a smart and vibrant city while providing new job opportunities to Canberrans.

Latest figures show the value of the ACT’s goods and services exports was $1.7 billion in 2015-16, up from $1.35 in 2014-15. Exports are up 5.8% over 12 months, with an average growth trend of 10.2% over 10 years.

These companies represent key sectors of our economy and are exporting their work to the world. They each have great stories to tell and I’m pleased to be celebrating their success, which is so critical to our business diversification and jobs strategy in the ACT.
